Within the framework of cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, a meeting was held bringing together the Ministry of Public Health, represented by the minister, Dr. Rakan Nasser Eddine; the Norwegian Aid Committee (NORWAC), represented by the country director, Mr.Dagfinn Bjørklid; and the Ghawth for Relief and Emergency, represented by the executive director, Dr. Abdullah Al-Omary.The meeting congratulated Dr. Rakan Nasser Eddine on his appointment as Minister of Health and wished him success in fulfilling his duties. Ways of cooperation and coordination were also discussed to ensure the continued support of the health system in Lebanon and to enhance access to primary and secondary healthcare for all those in need from the most vulnerable groups in Lebanon. Furthermore, the ongoing project to support the Turkish Trauma and Emergency Hospital in Saida, along with the ministry’s strategies to ensure the project’s sustainability, were reviewed. The discussions emphasized the importance of building strong partnerships and leveraging resources effectively. Participants agreed to establish regular communication channels to monitor progress and address challenges promptly, ensuring that health services remain accessible to those who need them most. Representatives of GHAWTH and NORWAC were briefed by the Minister of Health on the most important challenges facing the health sector and the main needs required for its advancement. These discussions highlighted the critical importance of collaboration among various stakeholders to address systemic issues and improve healthcare delivery. In addition, the Minister emphasized the need for ongoing training and resources to empower local healthcare providers in effectively managing these challenges.
