Supporting Harasta National Hospital in Syria

As part of Ghawth’s response to Syria’s humanitarian catastrophe, and following an analysis of the health situation in the Harasta area of Eastern Ghouta.
In January 2025, GHAWTH provided Harasta National Hospital with the necessary medical supplies.
The Project aims to:
1- Provide the hospital with medical consumables.
2- Continuing to provide free medical services to over 5,000 people per month in the Harasta and neighboring areas.
3-Increase the hospital’s capacity to 10,000 patients per month.
4- Strengthening the governmental health care system.
The hospital has five floors and the following clinics: pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, cardiovascular disease, nephrology and dialysis department, orthopedics, ENT, and gastroenterology. The hospital also has three operating rooms, a pharmacy, a lab, and a radiology department.
Every month, the hospital delivers free care to over 5,000 patients, including 20 patients who receive free dialysis sessions in addition to more than 1,500 natural and cesarean deliveries per month.
GHAWTH and partners are seeking to secure more funding to continue this essential support to enhance the ability of the most vulnerable groups in Syrian society to access primary and secondary health care.
